Downtown City Engagement Session

We were originally going to photograph Austen and Chase's engagement session in the woods, but this weather has been temperamental and we couldn't be sure we wouldn't get rained on. So last minute we changed locations. We decided to meet at Fountain Square Mall. I don't always meet my couples before their engagement session so there are usually a few awkward moments of trying to decide who my couple is. TBH, I usually wave at the wrong couple. As I headed towards the mall, I knew instantly that Austen and Chase were my clients. Their outfits were so coordinated that there was no way they weren't dressed for photographs.

While we were running around Bloomington, I got to hear all about their proposal - in the mountains of Tennessee!! - and their plans for their upcoming September wedding. I always encourage my couples to opt for a first look before the ceremony. A first look before the ceremony allows for a more intimate and romantic moment between the couple which we LOVE. When I mentioned this to Chase and Austen, I was surprised to learn that they would be getting ready together!! The more I thought about this, the more I fell in love with this idea. On your wedding day, you are marrying your best friend. Why wouldn't you want to get ready with them?

Austen and Chase told me about their hobbies and mentioned that they were animal people. My ears perked up and I'm sure my voice went up a few excited octaves as I asked them about their pets. I love all of my couples, but there is a very special place in my heart for animal lovers. I won't reveal how many pets they have, but I am incredibly envious of their animal filled lives.

Austen and Chase, thank you for allowing me to photograph your love for one another. I had so much fun walking and talking with you and Kevin and I cannot wait to photograph your wedding in September!
